Barry Nelson
Drum Instructor
Barry Nelson has been playing drums professionally since 1965. He joined his first band, The Ampegs, and then went on to play with 101 Gold Street, The Terry Langford Quartet, Shady Road, Tin Pan Alley, and Swell Party. Barry is presently the drummer for the 50's rock and roll band, Annie & the Orphans.
In 1980, after touring the country with various bands, Barry returned to New Hampshire and set up his private teaching practice. Inspired by his own first teachers, Eddie Nicholas and Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck's drummer), Barry's goal is to provide students with a foundation which can be applied to any style of music. More importantly, however, Barry encourages his students to have fun - enjoy music.
Paul Donahue
Drum Instructor
Paul has been playing drums for the past 12 years and teaching for the last 6. While open to all styles of music, his favorites include jazz, funk, soul and rock. He currently performs with many groups, including The Amorphous Band, The Craig Fahey Trio, The Todd Royce Band, Scotty Good Band, The Scharrf Brothers, and Zeb Cruishank. Playing with such a wide variety of bands has afforded Paul the opportunity to open for many national acts, such as Maceo Parker, SemiSonic, Corey Glover (of Living Color), Mighty Sam
Mclean, Chris Duarte, and The Radiators. He has toured up and down the East Coast from the tip of Maine to southern Florida, performed on 3 albums, countless demos, and continues to practice and study his craft daily. Paul is currently accepting students of all ages and levels who wish to begin, or to further their knowledge of this art.
